AI frequently asked questions
Is AI included in the plans or a separate add-on?
It's not a separate module. The "ask your data" is included in all plans; the AI Analyst (insights from dashboards, executive reports and alerts) is available starting at Growth. The AI runs with your company's AI key (OpenAI, Anthropic or Google) — the model cost remains on your provider account. The queries the AI runs on the data consume credits like any query: credits are data usage.
Is my data sent outside the platform?
SQL queries run in your datalake, with scoped access and per-query cost limits. To generate the answer, the AI model processes your question, the table schema (without columns flagged as sensitive) and the results it needs — not your whole database — under the provider's confidentiality safeguards. Permissions are respected: each user only gets answers about what they can see. For maximum isolation, there's the bring-your-own-cloud option (BYOC).
Do I need to know SQL?
No. You ask in plain English and the AI takes care of the rest. If you know SQL, you can see and tweak the generated query — good for validating and for learning how the number was calculated.
What is the AI Analyst?
It's AI working on a recurring basis, available from the Growth plan up: scheduled executive reports delivered by email (with a PDF attached from Business up), insights on dashboards, and metric monitoring with anomaly alerts and trend projections.
